THE GREAT BARRIER REEF

The great barrier reef is the world's longest marine park. It is situated off the north-east coast of Australia. And it's 65km wide.

We can find lots of animals, 1500 species of tropical fish, 200 types of birds and 20 types of reptiles including seaturtles. This under world offers beautiful colours. About 900 islands are all around the reef. Unfortunately, the corals are eaten up by a species of star-fish which are destroying the reef. The scientists seem to be helpess in front of this really big problem. The corals could have completely disappeared in about 20 years mainly because of global warming.
