Australia is the biggest island in the world, it measures 2 971 081 square miles (about 7, 700 000 square kilometres), that's about 15 times bigger than France but it is about 4 times less populated : there are 19,338 000 inhabitants in this island. Most of the inhabitants live near the coast but nearly nobody lives in the middle of Australia. Around this country, there are the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. The most famous towns in Australia are Canberra which is the Australian capital city, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane. Australia is part of the South Sea Island. Its inhabitants speak English and use Australian dollar to pay, they are normally protestant and quite wealthy because Australia's got a high standard of living.
