Migrations to Australia |
Before 1770, Australia was inhabited by Aboriginal people, but
in 1770, James Cook an English explorer discovered this country and took
possessions of these lands.
In 1788, England began sending convicts there to farm the land.
A big majority of Australians came from England, but in 1851 the
Australians discovered gold and a lot of people immigrated to this country
mainly from different parts of Europe in order to get rich.
In the XXIst century, there are still people who immigrate to this beautiful
country not because they want to get richer but because they believe they will
have a more pleasant life.
