The Rolling Stones is a group of rock'n'roll who was influenced by blues and country. The name of the group comes from a song by Muddy Water "Like a Rolling Stone".
The creators of the group were Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Brian Jones in 1962.
They released their first single called "Come on" in 1963 and in 1964, they gave their first concert. In 1965 the song "Satisfaction" came out and their first album is called "Out of our heads". They released "Paint it black" in 1966. "Jumpin Jack Flash" and the album "Beggars Banquet" came out in 1968. But in 1969 Brian Jones died in his swimming-pool. In 1972 they released "Exile on main street" and in 1973 "Angie" and in 1974 Mick Taylor left the group and Ron Wood took his place. In 1990 Bill Wilman left the group. And in 2005 the album "A bigger bang" came out. The Rolling Stones have played for more than 40 years.
The main members are : Keith Richards who plays the guitar ; Mick Jagger who sings ; Charlie Watts who plays the drums and Ron Wood who plays the guitar too.
The famous filmmaker Martin Scorsese made the film "Shine a light" about the Rolling Stones.
